How To Use Keywords To Increase Online Traffic

Search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN handle 16 Billion searches each month in North America. These three Internet giants control the most popular websites in Canada. Knowing the terms your customers use when searching for your product or service is critical to increase your Online Traffic.

The Best Keywords may not be Obvious

There are as many different ways to search as there are types of people. The specific keywords and phrases that bring in the most online traffic may not be the ones you first assume.

Keyword Research

Not all your website visitors become customers. Keyword Research helps you discover the most valuable keywords for your website. Not just the terms that bring in the most online traffic, but the ones that bring in the most business.

5 Ways to Find the Best Keywords

1) Listen to Your Customers

  • Learn their vocabulary
  • Understand how they think
  • Find out what motivates them

It's about knowing which words will grab the attention of the visitors you're trying to attract.

2) Ask for Suggestions.

Your sales staff and CSR's speak with your customers every day. Ask your employees who have direct contact with your customers which terms your customers are using.

3) Google Analytics

Google Analytics can reveal the most common keywords visitors are currently using to find your website. An excellent starting point for further keyword research.

4) Keyword Research Tools

Tools such as Wordtracker and Keyword Discovery are indispensable to keyword research. I use a free keyword tool called Web CEO. Enter a keyword for your business and the tools will suggest a list of related keywords. They will then tell you the number of searches for that keyword in the past 24 hours, as well as the number of sites currently using that keyword. The less competition there is, the greater the chance of generating online traffic.

5) Google Trends

Enter your potential keyword into Google Trends and you'll see whether a keyword is rising or declining in popularity over time.

The search term SEO has been steadily rising in search volume since 2003. The term World Wide Web has been steadily declining.

Ready to SEO!

Incorporate your keywords that bring in the most online traffic into both the content and structure of your website. Title tags, headings, internal links, inbound links, Alt-tags, are just a few areas to include your keywords.

Myth - Get Rich Quick Online And Myth - Free Traffic

Every once in a while you'll hear a story about somebody that went from $0 to $1,000,000 in one month. Number one, that's a 1 in 1 million shot, or maybe even 1 in 5 million. The odds of winning your local lottery are better than hitting it like that. The second thing to remember is that normally when something like that happens, the person is very well-connected. They end up doing some kind of a joint venture with somebody who is very well-connected, may already have a list of 100,000 people and it makes it very easy to generate that higher dollar. If you're doing this on your own and you don't already personally know someone that's making a million dollars a year online, it's not going to happen overnight. You're going to have to do it the hard way, and that means you're going to have to build a website, you're going to have to build subscribers, and you're going to have to create products that meet their needs.

The second myth is the myth of free traffic. This becomes more important to me every day because we hear all of this about free traffic. You can do this to get to get free traffic; you can do that to get free traffic. People even say that article marketing is free traffic, and for me it's not free traffic. It costs me $4000 a month. Even when I was writing them all myself so they didn't actually cost me dollars, I spent 20 or 30 hours a week on my article marketing and I could've been out working a full-time job making $100,000 grand a year. Really, those articles cost me $5000 a month even when I was writing them myself because I chose to write articles full-time to generate traffic rather than work a day job.

Any sort of traffic that you have, it's not free traffic. Even search engine traffic - people make such a deal about how search engine traffic is free. Search engine traffic's not free! You have to spend time and energy and money building links into your site. You've got to get Google to recognize you. You've got to get Yahoo! to recognize you. You've got to get the other search engines to recognize you. Whether you spend money or you spend time, you're spending something. Whether you spend $1000 a month generating traffic or you choose to forego getting a part-time job in the evenings and instead you work online generating traffic, either way it's costing you something. It's costing you time which is money or it's costing you real money. Don't get me wrong. I generate 18,000 or so visitors every single month, and maybe 200 of them I didn't really have anything to do with those people coming there except for the fact that I've 17,800 other visitors and when you do that you have some spillover. That traffic's not really free anyway. The price of it is absorbed in all of the other traffic that I do.

Developing Slideshows To Surprise And Amaze, Made Easy As 1-2-3

If you can create slideshows, you can boost the traffic to your website. When you decide upon the slideshow that you are going to use on your website, make sure it is one that will meet you're the expectations and high standards of your visitors.

For one thing, you do not want your slideshow to be the plain old everyday type piece that sparks no interest whatsoever.

Certainly you would agree that if your website is just going to sit there and not attract visitors, you may as well not have one.

The creation of a slideshow to use for advertising your company will help to get you the traffic you need to be an online success.

How can I use slideshows to improve my business, you ask?

One thing that will work like a charm is to create a slideshow to advertise what you have to offer. If your business sells products, this will work. If you provide services, it will work.

No matter what your website is about, a slideshow will enhance it and make more people interested in what you have to offer.

People love to watch slideshows that are interesting and have lots of good information. This will allow them the time to be introduced to a new company and find out what this company does that they might benefit from.

If you have a live presentation available to give out, you may want to use a slideshow to explain what it is you are offering.

Create slideshows that have sound. This makes them more interesting. Getting prospective client's attention is the first step to making sure they will come back.

If your slideshow includes pictures of places and things that grabs visitor's attention, you are halfway there.

If you want to make sure that people will return to your website, create slideshows that have offers of a free CD for the viewers.

A free offer will get them every time. Use a little of your creative side and make a slideshow that includes digital photos. Put together something that is unique and talks about the point you want to get across.

The best way to get someone's attention is to start with something they do not expect. When you do this, the initial work is completed and all that is left is to get them directed to your website.

You will be surprised at how well this works to get people to go to your website.

Getting them there and keeping them interested is what your business is all about is your main challenge. Try it out and see how this simple method will work for you.

The Ultimate Strategy For Driving Targeted Traffic To Your Website by : Dennis Francis

So you have the squeeze page up, you have the sales page and the order page ready to go. You've set up the auto-responder and the links to the free stuff to get your email list excited about doing business with you. You even have the upsell products ready to go. The problem is nothing is happening.

Where is the traffic? The dam has not broken and all those eager buyers have not overwhelmed your server. What's wrong? You decided to let your pay per click ads to the work for you?

We're going to look at a strategy to reach your goal. First let's define your goal.

Do you want to get 600 sales? Ok, let's use that as our goal. What do we do first? If you've read any of my articles, you know that we start with a list. How many interested prospects would you need to have on your list to meet this goal in a campaign? If you consider a 3% conversion (to very conservative) you'll need to establish a list of 20,000 names. Now would be a good time to go back to Google to check the search stats on your product to see if you've got enough willing prospects.

Here is the strategy for your high targeted traffic blitz. Give yourself 90 days to ramp up.

Online ads

For quick traffic to the site to get you started, get a Google Adwords account for pay per click and an Adbrite account for targeted website ads. Make your keywords highly targeted. You want to stay in your niche for instance if you sell hair restoration products, target "hair restoration" not "baldness". You'll get less clicks but more targeted clicks in the category you're looking for.

Ezine ads

There are thousands of ezines out there. Do a search in your category to find the ones that will offer you the most targeted traffic for advertising. You can check the popularity of the ezines in Alexa to be sure that you'll be getting a popular ezine. Place ads regularly and tack the results.

Blogs

Go to Technorati to find blogs in your category to start contributing replies. Get to be a blogger and set up your own at Blogger. Don't forget to create back links to your squeeze pages.

Articles

This is an essential component to blasting targeted prospects to your squeeze page. I know you'll freak out when I say this because it seems like a lot of work but you need to have at least 100 articles out in circulation on the Internet before you can benefit from article marketing. I wouldn't stop there. Articles have a cumulative effect. You can literally ad thousands of subscribers to your list in a year through articles.

Press releases

>Send out a press release at least every two weeks. It is important that you get your brand out in the public eye. The media will take a while to recognize you. If you're in their line of sight consistently, you'll begin to get results after several attempts.

List Exchange

Find partners with whom you can exchange free products or special offers. This is a great way for them to add extra value to their own offers. Embed your links in your free information product. Be sure to create a highly useful product, not a cheap 10 page sales letter. The product must be able to directly benefit the reader. You can generate massive increases in your list this way.

Viral Videos

You can generate tremendous traffic with viral videos. If you have the skill to put three to five minute videos on Youtube and Myspace, you can bring in targeted traffic.

When you have a hit product, a great list, or a popular website, don't stop promoting. Continue to add more content, products, and prospects. Many people slack off when they achieve a measure of success in their business. There will be plenty of time to relax once you've put away a year of income. Most expert Internet marketers work like crazy to reach a level of financial security. They tend to love what they do and continue to help others gain success.

Blog Traffic For Beginner

Traffic is one of the reasons that keeps bloggers "motivated". Traffic is so valuable that it could mean your blog’s failure without it. For those who have just started blogging, building traffic is the second priority next to building great contents. But how exactly can a beginner generate traffic to his or her blog?

There are three possible sources of traffic for any blogs namely; search engines, referrals from other websites/blogs and or paid traffic. For beginners, which among the possible blog traffic sources is ideal? To answer this question, let’s first have an overview of each traffic sources.

Traffic From Search Engines

Most of the traffic in the blogosphere is generated by search engines. Search engines like Google, Windows Live, Ask etc. are widely used by the netizens to search for specific information. Search engines when used refers websites or blogs that potentially contain the information being searched. Because of the significant roles of search engines in building traffic to a blog or website, search engine optimization became an important element in successful blogging.

Unfortunately, for those who have just started blogging, traffic from search engines will increase as soon as necessary search engine optimizations are implemented. Search engine optimization is a long process and it continues to evolve depending on the changes made by the search engines themselves. Search engine optimization will be thoroughly discussed in the succeeding posts.

Paid Traffic

For those who have the finance, paid traffic is a good and easy way to increase your blog’s traffic. However, since it’s paid, the cost increases depending on your traffic requirement. Adwords and Text Link Ads are some examples of companies that provides paid traffic services.

As beginners in blogging, I don’t encourage you to jump into buying traffic yet. Since your blog is relatively new, I assume that your blog has few content. I suggest that you build content for your blog first before you avail of any paid traffic services. This will ensure that your visitors will have sufficient articles to read when they visit your blog.

Traffic From Referrals

As I’ve said it before on my previous post, traffic referral from other blogs or websites is your best shot if you have just started blogging.

In order to increase blog traffic from referrals, links to your blog from other blogs or website should be made available. There are several ways to do this. Here are some of my previous articles you can read that provides you with good information on building traffic to your blog.
